Leadership Change

Leg Up Farm proudly announces the appointment of Jennifer Hitz as its new President and CEO, effective immediately.

She becomes just the third President in the history of the organization. Jen replaces Tom O’Connor who recently left the organization to pursue a new opportunity.

Jen, with her rich experience spanning more than 20 years in nonprofit leadership, with 10 of those being at Leg Up Farm, is poised to lead Leg Up Farm into its next chapter. Most recently, Jen served as Chief Development Officer, helping Leg Up Farm grow in remarkable ways.

“The Board of Directors carefully weighed their options, considered the current and future needs of the organization, and with unanimous approval, selected Jen to be the next President and CEO. The Board concluded that in many ways Jen has been preparing for this opportunity and role for years.” David Bernhardt, Leg Up Farm Board Chair

“I always envisioned Jen in our succession plan as Tom’s replacement and our next leader.” Louie Castriota, Leg Up Farm Founder

“It is the honor of a lifetime to lead Leg Up Farm. I had the joy of working alongside both Louie and Tom in their leadership roles. I gleaned so much from their mentorship and am grateful for the opportunity to continue their work and Leg Up Farm’s mission. I am also excited to lead Leg Up Farm into this next chapter. We will build on the current foundation to really elevate the role Leg Up Farm plays in healthcare, with special needs families, and with the greater York community.” Jennifer Hitz, Leg Up Farm President and CEO

Please join us in congratulating Jen and in welcoming her as the new President and CEO of Leg Up Farm. Leg Up Farm's staff and clients, as well as the future of Leg Up Farm, are all in capable hands!
