Donate a Horse
Leg Up Farm is always looking for horses to add to our Equine Therapy program. The horses in our Equine Therapy program are valuable members of our team and receive a high level of care from Leg Up Farm’s equine staff and other equine professionals.
Horses are accepted as donation or free lease, at the owner’s discretion.
The ideal horse for our program has a calm demeanor, is honest and completely sound at walk, trot and canter. Leg Up Farm’s equine staff evaluates each horse individually and determines whether or not the horse will be a good fit. Horses that appear suitable for the program are brought in to undergo a trial period, during which the horse is ridden by staff and clients. Donation or lease paperwork will be completed upon successful trial period.
If you interested in having your horse evaluated, please complete the following:
Complete the potential program horse questionnaire below.
Send a short video to show the horse schooling on the flat, as well as any other training the horse has such as over fences, dressage movements, western patterns, etc. The video should be emailed to Jessica Warns at jwarns@legupfarm.org.
A member of Leg Up Farm’s equine staff will follow up with you following receipt of the completed questionnaire and video.
